EARTHENWARE CERAMIC CLAY BODIES:
Earthenware clay is low-fire clay for pottery and sculpture.
Low-fire means fire to cone temperatures between cone 06 and cone 1 depending on the body.
(note, you cannot fire in your stove: even low-fire clay bodies require a kiln to fire.)
We offer earthenware clay bodies for many applications.
Mass White and New England White (talc-free) are very popular in K-8 schools. These clay bodies are inexpensive and easy to work with for kids of all ages. Being light in color they are less messy than darker clay bodies.
Choose MGB for thick sculptural work.
Mass Red is our classic terra-cotta clay.
All Sheffield Pottery Clay bodies are formulated and produced at our facility. Many of our clay bodies feature our native Sheffield clay that we mine on-site!
