Sheffield Z Stoneware Moist Clay c6-10 | 50Lb Box Non-Delivered Price
Temperature Range | Cone 6-10 |
Rarely does a clay body formula produce exceptional results from cone 6 to cone 10 in oxidation and reduction kiln atmospheres. Sheffield Z can be used in soda/salt and wood firing kilns resulting in orange peel and flashing clay surfaces. This is a throwing body that can also be used for slab and coil building. The Z formula has been popular with potters in the Northeast for many years producing functional ware. A unique element is the use of Sheffield Processing of screened fire clay which has been incorporated in the formula to produce a smooth workable clay body. Originally developed by Jeff Zamek at Alfred College of Ceramics in 1973- the formula has a long and reliable production history. |
