Multilevel Fusing
The GM1018 is a side fired kiln, which means you can fuse or slump on multiple levels. Depending on your projects, you can fire up to 3 layers of similar projects which basically triples your firing capacity. Zone Control is standard on this model so temperatures stay uniform top to bottom.

GlassFire Mode
With GlassFire Mode you just enter 2 pieces of data, whether you want to Fuse, Slump, or Tack Fuse and what Speed you want to fire at depending on the size and thickness of the piece. The controller then chooses a program for you that was designed by Artist, Author and Glass Expert Gil Reynolds. The programs were designed to work for both 90 COE and 96 COE.
When you press Start the kiln will run a program that takes into account: Thermal Shock, Process Time and Process Temperature, and Annealing. Just come back when the kiln is cool enough to unload.

Sophisticated, Yet Easy to Use
- The GlassMaster Controller is the only controller on the market with GlassFire Mode. GlassFire Mode allows you to run a program simply by entering the type of effect you want: Fuse, Tack Fuse or Slump and a speed based on the size and thickness of the project. It really is that easy and it works on most projects.
- If you prefer to write your own firing programs simply use the Ramp/Hold programming mode which can store up to 8 of your custom programs with up to 8 Segments. When you are ready to use one of your stored programs just load it and press start.
- Built in Diagnostics give you or our technicians the ability to diagnose kiln problems with just a few button presses.
- Active Keys allow you to make adjustments to the program while it is running based on a visual inspection. The Anneal Now key allows you to skip to the annealing phase of the program with a single key press. Add Time allows you to add 5 minutes to the final heating segment of the program if your project needs more time and Add Temp allow you to increase the temperature in the final heating segment if you want the glass to get hotter.

Skutt KMT Kilns include the Touch Screen Controller. Like a smartphone, the new KMT controller navigates with just a touch of a finger and allows us to guide you through programming with full sentences, helpful icons, and dynamic navigation.
Built-in WiFi makes it possible to download any software feature upgrades for free so it is like having a new Kiln Controller for the life of the kiln.
A Free App works in conjunction with the WiFi and allows you to monitor your kiln temperature and status from your smartphone.Think how comforting it will be not to get out of bed to be sure your kiln shutoff as expected.
The Hinged Controller allows you to move the controller up and down to an angle that is comfortable for you to program. No more getting on your hands and knees. After programming you can push it back down so it is out of your way and easy to view from across the room.
