Standard KilnShield Kiln Protector
Protect your kin from damage when loading and unloading your kiln.
The standard sizes protect 3 bricks (about 25% of the opening). The deluxe sizes cover 6 bricks for more than 50% coverage.
The most common damage to the top layer of brick is done during loading and unloading of the kiln. The very soft and brittle brick is susceptible to degradation from leaning on it, scraping of clothing, shelves, and the pottery itself. The KilnShield® provides a hard and smooth surface that will protect the brick from the friction of the daily wear. KilnShield offers years of use and kiln preservation. The shield protects a six-brick area from all pressure damage that commonly occurs when loading and unloading pieces from the kiln.
KilnShield uses high-quality materials: 16-gauge galvanized steel for the base and 5/16 soft silicone foam for the top. The materials are resilient to heat up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for those times, when you just can’t wait.
The models are specific to fit 23 and 28 inch kilns with 2.5" or 3" brick , ensuring a proper and accurate fit.
