Soldner Clay Mixers are still being manufactured by Muddy Elbow Mfg with the same quality construction developed by founder Paul Soldner. Every effort is made to insure this same quality in our new mixers.

Soldner clay mixers are a fast and efficient way of mixing fresh clay from powder or reprocessing scrap clay into a usable consistency. There are no sharp blades or augers but rather the clay is pushed against the stationary mixing bars by a slowly rotating concrete tub.

Unlike other clay mixers, the Soldner mixers carry all of the weight of the clay on the bottom of a slowly revolving concrete tub.
The rotating tub pushes the clay through stationary cutting bars with a slicing, chopping, wedging action.
With a Soldner mixer you do not need to premix the ingredients and there are no dangerous augers, sharp blades or high speed parts to avoid.

What makes a Soldner Clay Mixer so good.

We use American made industrial quality Baldor motors and gear reducers Most of the repair parts needed to maintain our mixers are off-the-shelf parts and available locally in most places. Mixer bars are 1" solid stainless steel. Steel reinforced concrete tub. Most Soldner mixers that have been manufactured are still in service, even some of the earliest ones from 30 years ago. Every effort is made to insure this same quality in our new mixers. I have used a Soldner Pro mixer in my own studio for the past 19 years, mixing 12-23,000 pounds of clay per year. The machine has always performed flawlessly. I have a great deal of respect for Paul and the reputation of his mixers, and I am pleased to be a part of this tradition.
