AMACO Velvet UnderGlazes

These underglazes have a wide firing range. They can be used at low-fire earthenware temperatures band most colors stay true to color when fired up to Cone 6, which allows the utmost in artistry and versatility. Many people use these at cone 10+ as well although colors vary.

Amaco Velvet Underglazes are perfect for professionals and novices. They are AP Non-Toxic and classroom-safe. Children love working with Amaco Velvet UnderGlazes as they are never disappointed with the results.

This product works well with bisque, greenware, and even wet clay. Underglazes do not move like glazes so choose under-glaze to achieve painterly effects and fine detail painting. They can be used without clear glaze to remain velvet matte on decorative pieces or with a zinc-free clear glaze for an intensified glossy look on decorative or food-safe wares.

NOTES:
Amaco Velvet UnderGlazes are AP Non-Toxic so they are all classroom safe.
The colors may be brushed (1) on greenware which is to be bisque fired before applying a covering glaze or (2) on a mature Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C) bisque, then a covering glaze applied.
Fire to the maturation temperature of the clay. Use zinc-free clear rated for that cone temperature as well.
For opaque coverage by brushing, the consistency of the color in the jar is correct.
V-327 will appear in Green Turquoise under LG-9 and Blue Turquoise under LG-10.
For best results with 318, 321, 322, 325, 326, 371, and 375, apply only two coats of LG-10 Clear Glaze.
